Krystal began as an assisted editor for the soft news section of the Trumpet her first year at Wartburg. As the paper changed its format and layout, KnightLife was no longer needed. Instead of throwing out the now useless section, Krystal re-branded it as a lifestyle page. She completely changed what stories were featured, the feel of the section and created more need to know stories about student's lives.
